A brief summary of the novel

Jane Eyre is a very famous and influential novel written by Charlotte Brontë. It is an autobiography of the writer's life, and she used a pen name instead of her real one: Currer Bell. This novel covers a lot of aspects including Jane's childhood at Gateshead, where she lived with her aunt and cousins and she was ill-treated; her education at Lowood School; her time as governess in Thornfield Hall, where she falls in love with Edward Rochester; her time with the Rivers family, where her cold clergyman-cousin St John Rivers proposes to her; and her reunion with and marriage to her beloved Rochester.
