Jane Eyre: Part 5

Jane started to get better and work in a small school that John Rivers had founded.
She had never told anything about her past and why she had appeared in front of the Rivers’ house. But she was surprised when John said to her that he knew who she was and why she had left Thornfield. Surprisingly they were cousins! They had an uncle in South America who had died and wanted to give his inheritance to Jane. She was very happy for the news; not for being rich but for having discovered that she had family.
Time passed and the Rivers’s family and Jane were so happy being together. Jane didn’t know why John was obsessed with teaching her languages. The answer arrived some weeks after: he wanted her to go with him to India, but he wanted to go with her as his husband.
But Jane wasn’t able to marry him because she still loved Edward Rochester and he didn’t love her and she felt the necessity of going back to Mr. Rochester and went back to Thornfield Hall.
